#1 · Jan 15, 2018 09 Kia Ceed 1.4 petrol. Engine misfiring and engine light sometimes always on but most time blinking. Have changed plugs (which were knackered) but no joy. I have recently bought a second hand 5D Cee'd, 2010 model. I've noticed that the engine makes a ticking noise, noticeable inside the cabin. I have changed oils to 10W-30, however not oil filter. Furthermore, I have changed also the precat. My technician told me that this is normal noise for this engine.
Problem: The turbo on the Ceed is known for failing. Some common symptoms of a failing turbo are: blue/black smoke coming from the exhaust, whistling noise from the top of the engine and/or a loss of power. Have a look at the video below:
