The unofficial work-around is to go back to using an older version of Origin. First, you can try the direct download links to be able to download the tool, along with the correct version. Installation. The Sims 3 - Origin/EA Desktop App. Download the "ld_TS3PatchEA.zip" file and extract its contents into your Sims 3/Game/Bin folder, then move the "Packages" folder into your "Documents/The Sims 3/Mods" folder. Both have 1.67 versions available on their download pages. In the case of ErrorTrap, you do have to select the correct 1.67 iteration -- one is for Steam installs and the other is for retail disc/the Mac version of the game/everyone else.
